So now I need to have a little word with us. By the way, are you with me? And every day is a new day about the pandemic. Every day it’s like, now what? Now what’s happening? What’s going on? So, and I’ve had a lot of you ask me questions about it and I just want to say a little mild thing. I want to remind you we’re doing everything we can not to be political about this. So if it looks like our decisions are somehow influenced by politics, please know that has nothing to do with how we’re doing this. So then what I want you to know is all of our decisions are first of all, guided by our Bishop. And then we tend to follow the recommendations of the CDC. And in addition to that, we consult the Johns Hopkins website, the Mayo Clinic website, and the Harvard medical website.

And in all of our decisions, we have thorough conversations with our staff and thorough conversations with our vestry. Now there’s no doubt in my mind that many of you would have made different choices than we have made. I get that. And I want you to know, sometimes we make a choice and I wake up the next morning and think, I wish we had made a different one. And then I wake up the next day and say, no, we made the right one. So it’s just… it’s challenging. And during this time, please feel free to send me any question you have. I’ve done my best to respond to all the questions that have come from parishioners. I don’t always do it the next day, but I try to get to it within a few days. We want you to have all the information you need.

If you have information you think we need, please feel free to share it with us. We’re trying to take it all in and make the best decisions we can. And then finally, I ask you, I actually, I want you to hear your church. It needs our support. And I mean the support of our presence, I mean the support of our goodwill. I mean, we need to listen to this morning’s sermon and we are together in this and we will be of a different mind, but deeper than the different mind is our togetherness. And so let’s keep going and doing the best we can and trying to pay attention to the information as best we can. By the way, let me also say, we look at the zip code data about the cases, not just the state and not just the county, but the zip code data about the cases where we’re just collecting all the data we can. And thank you for your support and understanding.
