Greetings Members and Friends of Saint Barnabas,

It has been a joy to see new visitors and returning members coming back to church as we continue to regather. If you have attended in the last two months you will have noticed the Sanctuary beginning to fill up. And that’s great news! It shows the vitality of our community and enhances the experience of worship for all of us. Blessed be God!

In years past we have seen Christmas Eve bring us over 1,500 members, friends, and guests. As we approach this Christmas Eve your clergy and staff have struggled with how best to honor our commitment to profound welcome and the health of the community with regard to the pandemic. Our two main ways of mitigating our community’s risk during Covid 19 is the continued wearing of masks and the use of socially distanced seating.

Our vestry, clergy, and staff believe that what follows below gives us the balance between welcome and safety that would help us accommodate the most people on Christmas Eve. Below this letter you will find the schedule for Christmas weekend. This information includes which services require masks, which services are livestreamed, and which services will offer socially distanced pews.

I want to thank you for your continued support as we navigate being a community that welcomes and cares for each other during trying times.

May the Peace and Joy of the Incarnate Christ be with you abundantly,

The Rev. Jim Clark
