Join us for the conclusion of our 6-part series with parishioner Dr. Elizabeth Ursic that introduces the beliefs and practices of six of the major world religions. We started last spring with the oldest and covered Hinduism, Buddhism, and Taoism, and are now poised to continue with the Abrahamic faiths of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. These evenings will be tailored for our Saint Barnabas community and will include time for questions as well as discussion and reflection. Z_o_o_m credentials are available via our weekly emails or by calling the church office. Click here to subscribe to our weekly email.

Dr. Ursic teaches college classes on World Religions and holds an MDiv from Yale Divinity School, a Ph.D. in Religious Studies from Arizona State University, and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business. She co-chairs the American Academy of Religion and Society of Biblical Literature Women’s Caucus. She has taught world religions to over 5,000 students and has been a visiting scholar at seminaries, universities, and cultural centers around the world. For over twenty years she has also served as a spiritual director for individuals and churches. Her book, Women, Ritual and Power: Placing Female Imagery of God in Christian Worship, is named one of the top 100 contemporary books on women’s spirituality. Elizabeth studied at the Yale Institute of Sacred Music and her albums include Gratitude and Unspoken Touch. She has been a member of Saint Barnabas for many years and enjoys serving as a reader and usher, as well as occasionally playing cello duets with cantor Rudy.
