Today, Rev. Robert leads one of three days of Noonday Prayer (BCP103). This short office of re-centering in the presence of God at midday can be completed within ten minutes, even if it includes three minutes of silence.

Today, Rev. Robert leads the second of three days of Noonday Prayer (BCP103). This short office of re-centering in the presence of God at midday can be completed within ten minutes, even if it includes three minutes of silence.

The hymn for the day:

Now let us sing our praise to God
With fervent heart and ready mind:
Each day the sun at zenith calls
the faithful to their noonday prayers.

For at this hour to all the world
the grace of true salvation came:
the Lamb of God restored our peace
by virtue of his saving grace.

So dazzling is its holy light,
it puts the noonday sun in shade.
Then let us all with joy embrace
the flaming splendor of such grace.

All glory be to you, Lord Christ,
Who, conquering death, reign gloriously
with God, Creator of all things
and with the Spirit, Comforter. Amen.

The hymn for the day:

O God of truth and Lord of might,
you order time and change aright,
you send the early morning ray,
and light the glow of perfect day:

Quench now on earth the flames of strife;
from sinful passions shield our life;
and while you keep our body whole,
pour healing peace upon our soul.

Almighty father, hear our cry
Through Jesus Christ our Lord Most High,
Whom with the Spirit we adore
For ever and for evermore. Amen.
