SUMMER MUSIC + ARTS CAMP UPDATES

Email sent Thursday, May 19

Dear Families,

Summer Music+ Arts Camp is now less than one month away! We have lots of information to share with you as we prepare for a week full of creativity. Also, we ask that you fill out one final online form to give us information about the Friday lunch and Sunday worship, as well as best contact number and pick-up plan. Click here to complete the Summer Music + Arts Camp Final Details.

    • Camp sign-in for campers entering Kindergarten and older is located in the Gwen M. Harris Music Center on the southwest corner of campus (see attached map). Both half-day and full-day sign out will take place in Hutton Hall. Wee Hearts campers (ages 3-4 years) must be signed in and out separately in the Children’s Center.
    • Plan to arrive early on Monday, June 13. Sign in begins at 8:30am each morning and camp morning program songs and activities begin promptly at 9am. Please don’t be late!
    • Have your children bring a labeled water bottle for camp. You may choose to have them leave it for the week or take it home each afternoon.
  • We will be working together all week to prepare for a final production, gallery, and lunch on Friday, June 17. All families are invited to attend. The production will begin at 12pm with lunch following until 1:30pm. Please note that half-day camp will end at 1:30pm on Friday. Sportball activities will still continue until 5pm each day
  • All campers and families are invited to worship at Saint Barnabas on Sunday, June 19 at 10:15am. Campers will lead worship by singing in the church during the second half of the service. We will meet in the Music Center on Sunday morning beginning at 10am. Parents and families will then join the church service and, after the sermon and prayers, campers will share their camp songs and then join their families for the Communion portion of the service. We ask that all campers wear their camp t-shirts on Sunday.
  • Part of our creative camp experience is theme dress days based on our Hearts, Hands, + Voices thematic focus. Start planning now for five days of fun and silly outfits:
    • Monday: A Heart for the Earth (Wear Green)
    • Tuesday: A Heart for Your Neighbor (Funny Hats/Slippers)
    • Wednesday: A Heart for Family and Friends (Twin/Triplet/Multiple)
    • Thursday: A Heart for You (Wacky, Wonderful You)
    • Friday: A Heart for Arts and Music (Camp t-shirts: passed out in the morning)
  • We will be learning several songs together for our Friday production. I have attached two of those songs for you to download and start practicing now: Hearts, Hands, and Voices and Welcome Song. These songs and additional camp songs are available on our website for streaming and download at www.saintbarnabas.org/camp-songs.

I will send additional reminders and camper schedules as camp gets closer. Let’s get ready to get creative!
