In celebration of our newly-completed outdoor labyrinth, Saint Barnabas Episcopal Church invites you to learn how to pray with your whole body. On Saturday, February 27 from 9:00am to 3:30pm, join the Rev. Dr. Kay Mutert for a unique Day-Long Retreat to discover the labyrinth as an ancient spiritual practice that joins contemplation and action.

THE REV. DR. KAY MUTERT

A Veriditas Master Teacher and retired United Methodist minister, Dr. Mutert finds great joy in her connection with those seeking stillness within. Through workshops, pilgrimages, retreats, and facilitator trainings, she helps others discover and develop their gifts as well as a vision for themselves and their communities. Dr. Mutert leads pilgrimages to Iona, Scotland, the holy places of England and France, Nova Scotia, and elsewhere.

THE DAY’S RHYTHM WILL INCLUDE…

  • Labyrinths Past & Present Discover the story and place of the labyrinth in past and present meditative realms
  • Walking the Labyrinth Learn practices for walking the labyrinth and enjoy opportunities to walk both indoor and outdoor labyrinths at Saint Barnabas
  • Celtic Spirituality Reflect on what Celtic spirituality offers us for today’s contemplation
  • Spiritual Music Draw inspiration and solace from the sounds of the day — Dr. Mutert is an accomplished musician
