As we join our nation in mourning the loss of Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, we celebrate her life and legacy.

Justice O’Connor was a faithful member of Saint Barnabas Episcopal Church. She was always gracious to the clergy of Saint Barnabas. On one occasion in which we were discussing a substantial initiative for the parish, she attended a gathering of about fifteen people. Her insightfulness and the tenacity – kind tenacity – of her questions were remarkable.

“We don’t accomplish anything in this world alone… and whatever happens is the result of the whole tapestry of one’s life and all the weavings of individual threads form one to another that creates something.” -Sandra Day O’Connor

Justice O’Connor’s funeral was be held at the Washington National Cathedral on Tuesday, December 19.

If you would like to learn more about her life and legacy, we invite you to visit the Sandra Day O’Connor Institute for American Democracy at https://oconnorinstitute.org/.

We give thanks to God for Justice Sandra Day O’Connor and for the legacy of her life of service. May she rest in peace and rise in Glory.
