We’re excited to share an update on our Habitat for Humanity house.

Don Carlos Street Project, Tempe

Our progress on the Fall 2023 house on Don Carlos Street in Tempe has unfortunately come to a temporary halt. The City of Tempe is experiencing scheduling difficulties with water and power installations for the six houses on this site. As a result, our work is currently on hold.

Despite this setback, our house for Ali and Marissa is nearly complete, with only a few final touches left. The house looks fantastic, thanks to Ali and Marissa’s excellent choice of interior and exterior colors. The kitchen boasts white cabinets, an uncommon feature in Habitat houses, giving it a clean and modern look. The exterior features a subtle green color with darker green trim, creating a beautiful and harmonious appearance.

While Ali and Marissa are understandably disappointed by the delays, they are handling the situation with grace.

Alta Vista Project, South Mountain

Meanwhile, our Episcopal Habitat Coalition partners have been hard at work on a new build site near South Mountain, specifically near 13th Street and Southern. This project, known as the Alta Vista Project, will eventually be a complete Habitat neighborhood with 25 houses. Most of these houses will be single-story, but a few two-story homes will also be included. Our coalition is set to begin work on one of these houses in the fall.
