At Saint Barnabas, we take pride in upholding our tradition of exceptional music, featuring world-class soloists, and enriching our community’s cultural life. Each concert is held in the stunning sanctuary of Saint Barnabas on the Desert Episcopal Church, home to the renowned Pritzlaff Memorial Pipe Organ. After every performance, we host a reception where you can mingle and reflect on the evening’s music.

The Saint Barnabas Adult Parish Choir in conjunction with the Saint Barnabas Orchestra present one of the staples of the classical masterworks literature during the Lenten season. Experience the powerful and emotional music of Dvorák set to the famous text of the Stabat Mater as a prelude to Holy Week.

The Phoenix-based chamber ensemble Urban Nocturnes returned once again to present a variety of works for strings and winds. Explore pieces by Süssmayr, Schubert and Reger as well as an innovative set of 7 Dances for Flute, Clarinet & Cello by Brian Raphael Nabors.
Married couple and acclaimed pianists Michael Rector and Sylvia Hong return by popular demand to the Saint Barnabas concert series to join together in a wonderful concert of works for the keyboard. Be sure to mark your calendars for this masterful skill and musicianship display!

The Christmas season concluded with our annual Twelfth Night concert, the Magi journey through Brent Landau’s book Revelation of the Magi and we experienced a wonderful collection of Saint Barnabas musicians and singers.

Our annual service of Lessons & Carols continues the great Anglican Advent tradition of telling the stories that prepare us for the mystery of the Christmas season. The Saint Barnabas Parish Choir leads this service complete with congregational hymns, choral anthems and Biblical readings.

Under the direction of Music Director Julie Desbordes, the Salt River Brass begin their 44th season back on the Saint Barnabas stage. The concert will feature a diverse repertoire selection from classical masterpieces (including Bach and Strauss) to modern exciting compositions (John Williams). Don’t miss this rousing concert from one of the Valley’s staple arts organizations!

Join us for a wonderful collection of favorites from the organ bench played by our Music Minister and resident Organist, Michael Salazar. This recital will feature the beautiful Mary Dell Pritzlaff Sanctuary Organ, a Casavant instrument framed by the famous Wondrous Love mosaic in our Sanctuary.
