A Visit from The Rev. Canon Anita Braden
March 13 | 10:15 AM
join us in welcoming The Rev. Canon Anita Braden as our guest preacher at the 10:15 service!
The Rev. Cn. Braden serves as the Canon to the Ordinary* and the Chief of Staff for the Diocese of Arizona. She functions as the Bishop’s right hand, and her many, many responsibilities include the deployment of clergy, congregational development, and she is the Director of Best Skills Best Churches. Rev. Cn. Braden has more than two decades of ministerial service in Christ through a wide variety of religious venues. Her first call to service was in the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. After ordination, she served as a Trauma Chaplain in a Children’s Hospital while enjoying preaching and teaching in various denominations. Subsequently, Rev. Braden was called by an Episcopal bishop to serve on the diocesan staff and later became ordained as an Episcopal priest. She has served as the Chaplain and Department Chair for Religious Studies at an all-girls Episcopal boarding school in Virginia.
She is in the final stages of obtaining her Doctor of Ministry from Virginia Theological Seminary.
*(“Canon to the Ordinary” means that she is a priest who works directly for the Bishop; the bishop is known as the “Ordinary,” meaning overseer.)
