Sarah Petersen, Saint Barnabas Director of Children’s Ministries, has the honor of serving as Director of the General Convention Children’s Program for the 81st General Convention of the Episcopal Church in Louisville, KY. In 2023, Sarah was asked by Bishop Jennifer Reddall to work with the Office of the General Convention to prepare for the Children’s Program that will take place in Phoenix in 2027. After a few planning meetings for Louisville, she was asked to step into the role of director for this year as well.

The General Convention Children’s Program takes place at the Hyatt Regency conference rooms, across the street from the Louisville Convention Center. The program is fully subscribed with more than 40 children ages 6 months to 12 years. Kids will engage in the Waves of Gratitude curriculum produced by the United Thank Offering, which includes art, music, STEAM, and water play activities.

Sarah is grateful for the support and encouragement of the staff and parishioners of Saint Barnabas.
