boundless Welcome:
Family Promise at Saint Barnabas
Thank you to the 50+ Saint Barnabas parishioners, staff, friends, and family members who came together during the week of February 9-16, 2025, in service to our four guest families working to transition from homelessness into homes of their own:
Chris Bauer • Anne Bishop • Rebecca Brookson • Denise Bueno • Grace Chen • Tracy Cruickshank (Admin Reporting Lead) • Pat Dodds • Suzy Dodds • Becky Evans • Kate Fimbres and the Wednesday Night Dinner Group • Ann Flowerree • Dan Galloway • Mark Gardner • Susan Gardner • Ellen Gilbert • Marian Green • Ro Hanna • John Hart • John Hogan • Ann Hott • Barb Hucek • Peggy Iacobelli • Sky Larsen • Laura Levine • Mossie Lierle (Chef Team Coordinator) • Anne Lorimor • Elizabeth Lyon • Wynn Maxwell • David McClintic • Kim McClintic • Dusty McMahan • Judee Morrison • Paula Nelson (Host Team Coordinator) • Amy Otto • Sarah Petersen and the Wednesday Night Children’s Groups • Phyllis Rector • Debby Sedwick • Jack Sedwick • Sheila Shervey (Set Up/Take Down Coordinator) and friends • Peter Sinclair • Chelsea Stanton • Carol Stewart • Barbara Stoneman-Herman • Tom Timmer • Kyle Tuttle • Steve Tuttle • Mary Beth Volberding • Nancy Weaver (Overnight Team Coordinator) • Scott Weaver • Rachel Williams.
With the support of our terrific Saint Barnabas clergy and staff – especially Chris Falkenstein and the wonderful Facilities team – together, we provided food, fellowship, fun, and a restful place to sleep and rejuvenate for 4 parents and 6 children ages 1-11.
Our volunteers cooked, cleaned, entertained, educated, comforted, and supported! And our guests felt God’s love shine through it all. After a long day of work or job searching, skill development, and schooling, these families all expressed many times how happy they were to be at Saint Barnabas each evening, receiving a warm welcome from wonderful people who clearly valued them as individuals.
Finally, as she steps down from her leadership team role, we would like to offer a special note of thanks to Sheila Shervey for her service to Family Promise. Sheila’s hard work and innovative contributions to the Set-up and Take-down efforts have been truly amazing, and though we are sorry to lose her from leadership, we are thrilled that she will continue as a volunteer. Thank you, Sheila!
We look forward to welcoming our next group of guest families from May 4 to 11, 2025, and hope you will consider joining our boundless Welcome: Family Promise at Saint Barnabas volunteer family!
