Walking as One: World Labyrinth Day 2025 at Saint Barnabas Episcopal Church
Saturday, May 3, 2025
This past Saturday, May 3, the grounds of Saint Barnabas Episcopal Church in Scottsdale became part of a global wave of peace as we joined in the annual observance of World Labyrinth Day. Each year on the first Saturday in May, communities worldwide take part in this powerful movement by walking labyrinths in a shared, symbolic act of meditation and unity. At Saint Barnabas, we walked together as ONE, adding our footsteps and prayers to a worldwide rhythm of peace.
World Labyrinth Day, first launched in 2009 by The Labyrinth Society, is grounded in the belief that the simple, sacred act of walking a labyrinth can be a transformative journey. It is a practice that invites peace, healing, and reflection—both inwardly and outwardly. At Saint Barnabas, our labyrinth is a cherished part of our spiritual landscape, offering a space for quiet contemplation and sacred connection year-round.
Saturday’s walk brought together parishioners, friends, and visitors of all ages. As we moved slowly along the labyrinth’s winding path, we did so in intentional silence, holding peace in our hearts for our community, our world, and ourselves. The experience reminded us that we are not alone—that even in our journeys, we walk in communion with others across the globe who share in this ancient practice of prayer and presence.
At Saint Barnabas, we believe that “All are welcome” is not just a slogan—it’s a way of life modeled after Jesus’ example. Participating in World Labyrinth Day is one way we live out that welcome, standing with a global community committed to harmony, mindfulness, and shared hope.
If you’ve never walked the Saint Barnabas labyrinth, we invite you to come and experience it. Whether on a special occasion like World Labyrinth Day or in a quiet moment of your own, you are welcome to walk, reflect, and pray. Let us continue to walk in peace—together.
