Quiet Day
In-person and on Zoom
A Quiet Day at Saint Barnabas
– From 9:30am to 1pm | Sanctuary + Z_o_o_m –
The Rev. Bruce McNab leads this Quiet Day
The Rev. Bruce McNab has served as a priest for 53 years, including as rector of five parishes in four dioceses. He holds degrees from Austin College, Princeton University, and The General Theological Seminary, and was an Episcopal Church Foundation Graduate Fellow at the Institute of Historical Research in London.
Rev. Bruce has taught Church History and New Testament at the seminary level and has been a retreat and conference speaker for parishes, dioceses, and organizations across the U.S. and abroad. He is the author or editor of four books, including Believing is Seeing: A Guide for Responding to John’s Gospel (2016), which grew out of his long-standing interest in Johannine studies.
The contemplative life is quite simple and accessible to everyone. It is simply the intention to pause, to be still, and, by faith, to rest in Christ’s presence within. Quiet Day includes reflections, quiet, solitary time, and sessions of communal silent prayer in the Sanctuary. Participants are welcome to the Sanctuary, to quiet areas for reading or journaling, or to walk our beautiful campus. The day concludes with the Holy Eucharist. Please bring your Bible.
Z_o_o_m credentials are sent via email. Not on our mailing list? Contact Ann Hott if you would like to be included. All are Welcome!
