April 16 | Session 14: Matthew 6: 19 – 24 Treasures

In Gospel of Matthew 6:19–24, Jesus invites us to take an honest look at what we truly value. “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” It’s a simple line, but it cuts deep. Our time, attention, and energy quietly reveal what we’re building our lives around.

This passage isn’t just about money. It’s about allegiance. Jesus draws a clear line between storing up treasures on earth and treasures in heaven, reminding us that our hearts can’t be divided forever. We will lean toward what we trust most.

This raises real questions for all of us: What am I chasing? What defines success for me? What am I holding onto that might be pulling my heart away from God? And just as important, what would it look like to invest more intentionally in things that last—faith, relationships, generosity, and a life rooted in God’s presence?
