Mary Hamway
Mary and her husband, Geoff, have been part of Saint Barnabas for 14 years. They were drawn by the welcoming community and the music program, and over the years they’ve volunteered in several roles. Mary began her career as an IT analyst and consultant. After two decades, she stepped back to raise their son, Stephen, while staying active in the community as HOA and PTA president. She later served the Town of Paradise Valley as vice mayor and council member.
Originally from Texas, Mary has called Arizona home for 31 years. She and Geoff share their home with their miniature schnauzer, Max.
Scoth Statham
Scott is Vice President and Deputy General Counsel at Freeport McMoRan Inc., a Phoenix- based international mining company. Previously, he practiced law as a litigation associate and partner at Vinson & Elkins in Houston, Texas from 1987-2008 and trained as a mediator in 2001.
Scott joined the St. Barnabas family in 2010 and currently serves as an usher, a bursar, works on the Broadway Bash kitchen team, and is a member of the Legacy Society committee.
In his spare time, Scott enjoys camping, hiking, biking, anything outdoors.
Joe Theman
Joe and his wife, Judy, joined St. Barnabas in 2022 after more than two decades at a large Mainline church in PV. They were looking for a place where their faith could keep growing and where real fellowship was part of daily life. At Saint Barnabas, they found exactly that. From their first visit, they were welcomed not as guests but as neighbors, and that connection now feels like family.
They have two sons, Jake in Scottsdale and Tyler in Newport Beach.
Joe is grateful to be part of this lively parish and looks forward to serving Saint Barnabas as a member of the Vestry.
Deborah Webster
Debora and her husband, Kris Radke, came to Saint Barnabas in 2019, just as the world was about to shift. They are grateful to be part of a community committed to living out Jesus’ call to love our neighbors as ourselves. Debora finds meaning, friendship, and joy through TAEHS, Adult Faith Formation, and contemplative prayer.
She also serves on the Commission on Ministry for the Diocese of Arizona.
She sees Saint Barnabas as a bright, joyful place and a gift to a world that needs the hope and love of God.
