Faithful Living, Faithful Legacy
Consideration for Aging in Place
Sunday, April 12, 11:30am – 1pm | Hutton Hall – Lunch will be provided.
Our Barnabas Legacy Society and Pastoral Care Program will begin our Stepping Stone series on Healthy and Secure Aging with a thoughtful look at what it means to age in place. For many, remaining in one’s own home is not just a practical decision but an emotional and spiritual one. It touches independence, dignity, finances, family relationships, and long-term planning.
We are grateful to welcome Erica Williams, Clinical Professor in the College of Health Solutions at Arizona State University, who will guide this conversation. Drawing on her experience in health and aging, she will offer clear, practical guidance on home safety, including fall prevention, accessibility adjustments, and ways to assess whether a home environment continues to meet changing needs. She will also help identify trusted community resources, support services, and local programs that can assist individuals and families as they plan ahead.
This session is designed to be informative and encouraging. Whether you are planning for yourself, supporting a spouse, or helping a parent navigate next steps, Stepping Stone offers a space to learn, ask questions, and think carefully about the path forward.
Plan to join us. Notify Sarah Petersen by April 5 at sarahp@saintbarnabas.org if you will need childcare.
