April 30 | Session 15: Matthew 6: 25 – 34 Free Choice

In Gospel of Matthew 6:25–34, Jesus speaks directly to one of the most common struggles we carry: worry. He points to the birds of the air and the lilies of the field as quiet witnesses to God’s care, reminding us that life is more than what we eat, wear, or control.

This passage isn’t dismissing responsibility, but it reframes our focus. Jesus calls us to trust over anxiety, to shift from striving for security to seeking first the kingdom of God. There’s a freedom here, but also a choice. Each day, we decide what will shape our thoughts and guide our hearts.

This raises real questions for all of us: Where is worry taking up space in my life? What would it look like to trust God more fully in those places? And how might my priorities change if I truly believed that God knows my needs and is already at work providing for them?
