Men’s Group – March 5 | Session 12

Session 12 will focus on Jesus’ words in the Gospel of Matthew 6:14–15, where he connects our willingness to forgive others with our own experience of God’s forgiveness. These verses come right after the Lord’s Prayer and press the point in a direct and personal way. Forgiveness is not treated as an optional spiritual extra, but as something central to life in the Kingdom.

In this conversation, we will look honestly at what forgiveness is and what it is not. Forgiveness does not mean pretending we were not hurt. It does not excuse injustice or remove consequences. Instead, it is a deliberate choice to release resentment and entrust judgment to God. We will talk about why this is often hard, especially when wounds run deep, and how holding onto anger can quietly shape our hearts.

Together, we will explore practical steps toward forgiveness, the difference between forgiveness and reconciliation, and how forgiving others opens space for freedom, healing, and restored relationships. The goal is not to force easy answers, but to invite real reflection on how Christ’s mercy toward us becomes the pattern for our mercy toward others.

PLEASE NOTE: This session will be at Scott Statham’s house, where we will partake in a very special dinner cooked by our friend Scott Weaver, you do not want to miss out! For details, please click below so we know how many will attend.
