This year, we are excited to have our Interim Rector, Rev. Dan Burner, as our speaker.
The Rev. Dan Burner | Interim Rector
Rev. Dan was raised in the Methodist church and, as a teenager, began his long quest for a deeper relationship with God. Through a leadership role in the youth group and an introduction to the practice of invitation through understanding basic group dynamics, he began to focus more clearly on God’s presence in his life. During his senior year, he felt his first call to ministry. In college, he was the president of one of the Christian student groups on campus and found roles there that fed his hunger to serve. Throughout these years, he was fervent in pursuit of a deeper understanding of the Divine. He began to practice meditation. Silence became his friend with many hours of deep reflection. Clarity of purpose came to him through attending a presentation by Fr. Richard Rhor, which led to his desire to move toward becoming a mystic, or one who seeks unity with the divine through meditation. After two careers in the business world, he now serves Christ as a priest in the Episcopal Church.
