Sundays, Beginning September 15, 9am

Faith Formation at Saint Barnabas nurtures us as followers of Jesus. We have many programs to help you draw near to God and strengthen the bonds of our belonging in Christ’s people. See below some new ways that you can get involved. We hope you find a way that will grow your spirituality during our 9am faith formation hour on Sundays beginning September 15.

Gathering Families

Gathering Families is a time and place for parents to grow together in faith, to be spiritually fed and strengthened in the bonds of community. Led by Rev. Robert Berra, we will begin by following Presiding Bishop Michael Curry’s “The Way of Love.”  We will explore 7 faith practices that help us to grow in relationship with God and one another.  This is a time to step away from the responsibility of caregiving and flourish as disciples of Jesus.  Join us every Sunday or as often as you can. Meets in Sean’s Place.

Intimacy with God

(TAEHS) The ART of Engaging Holy Scripture

Learn to draw nearer to the God who is near to you. Learn to experience God’s Presence in your life. And do so in a small group of others who are learning with you. Interested? Come to three, one hour sessions on Sunday mornings for an introduction to The ART of Engaging Holy Scripture by our Rector, Jim Clark. Then decide if you want to continue in a small group guided by a trained facilitator. 9:00 am Sundays beginning September 15 in Hutton Hall. For more information, contact Ann Hott.

Conversations

Dive deeper with your faith during our faith formation hour between the 7:45am and 10:15am services. Over the course of the program year, our clergy rotate in leading sessions over different faith-related topics. There is no requirement or commitment necessary and you can drop in anytime. There will be opportunities to listen, learn, ask questions and join the conversation. The first Sunday will be led by Rev. Robert Berra and the topic will be the role of Scripture in a Christian’s life and faith. Bring your Bible (or borrow one) and invite your friends! All are welcome. Meets in the Learning Center Library.

Early Bird Scholars

The Early Bird Scholars meet every Sunday morning for traditional Bible study at Saint Barnabas. If you are energized by engaging with the Scriptures through a traditional method in a group setting or simply want to learn more about what we study, you are welcome to join us! The Early Birds meet at 9 am in the St. Paul’s Room of the Learning Center.

To learn which text the group is currently studying, please contact Larry Brainard.
