NEW HOME OWNERS FOR JAKE’s HOUSE
Dear Friends,
We are thrilled to share some wonderful news—Jake’s house now has a homeowner!
Her name is Blerta Esati, and she has a three-year-old son, Erik. Blerta is a devoted mother, full of enthusiasm for creating a safe, loving home for her family. She spent Saturday morning painting and exploring her new home, excitedly imagining the memories she and Erik will make there. We’ll share a complete homeowner information sheet as soon as Habitat for Humanity issues it.
As you can see in the attached pictures, we’re nearing the finish line on this special build. The interior and exterior paint is complete, most of the cabinets are installed, and we’re now waiting for the AC to be installed and turned on so the house can settle before flooring goes in. While we don’t yet have exact timing for these final steps, there will still be opportunities to volunteer. A few days of landscaping and cleanup remain before the house is fully ready.
About Blerta:
Blerta Esati is a dedicated mother determined to give Erik the stable, joyful childhood every child deserves. A native of Arizona, Blerta knows the impact of Habitat for Humanity firsthand—the program once helped her own family. Now, inspired by what Habitat made possible for her, she is on a mission to create a forever home for her son.
As a single mom, Blerta has faced the challenges of rising rents and limited support, moving multiple times in search of safe, affordable housing. Currently, she and Erik share a small one-bedroom apartment, with Blerta sleeping in the living room so Erik can have his own space.
Blerta’s desire for a secure, reliable home is fueled by a wish to provide Erik with a backyard to play in and a safe space for their dog to run freely. Community and family time are at the heart of her life. She works in the financial sector, known for her friendly, outgoing nature and strong customer service skills. Blerta and Erik enjoy simple joys like coloring, biking, visiting the park, and spending time with family.
For Blerta, homeownership through Habitat is about more than financial security—it’s the promise of stability for Erik as he grows, starts school, and enjoys the freedom of a consistent home. In her words: “This program is a blessing for a single mom like me to give my son a stable future, a great future like Habitat was able to do for me and my family.”
With determination and gratitude, Blerta and Erik are looking forward to a home filled with laughter, playground adventures, and new memories—a forever place to finally call their own.
