Our local sister parish is St. Luke’s at the Mountain located in south Phoenix. For many years, we’ve partnered with St. Luke’s for the learning, growth, and love of both of our parishes.

Two annual ways we connect:

1. Christmas Party Love baking? Love kids? Each winter, Saint Barnabas parishioners bake cookies and bring crafts, activities, and other fun for children and families at the annual St. Luke’s Christmas Party. We also shop for Christmas gifts and basic needs for each of the St. Luke’s children. For this event, we need bakers, drivers, craft helpers, cookie servers, and more.

2. Volunteer Appreciation Day Located in a low-income neighborhood in south Phoenix, St. Luke’s is run almost exclusively by volunteers, so in honor of all those who work so tirelessly to make St. Luke’s the wonderful parish it is, we also offer a Volunteer Appreciation Day each year in the spring. For this event, we need grillers, food servers, gift organizers and distributors on the day, and more.
