Backpack Blessing

Sunday, August 2 at the 10:15 am service in the Sanctuary

Students and teachers of ALL ages are invited to bring backpacks, bags, and briefcases to church for a special blessing during worship. Join us for a celebration of learning and teaching! All are welcome.

Prayer

God of Wisdom, as we begin another school year, I pause to ask for your blessing on all aspects of my life. I give you thanks for my school, my teachers, and my friends. I am grateful for pencils, crayons, notebooks, and for your gift of learning. Bless us all with curiosity, understanding, and respect. And bless my teachers, who support and encourage me and my friends. In this time of new beginnings, I ask your blessing on all of us learning how to learn online and outside our usual classrooms, and a blessing on the many devices we use to connect with our neighbors in a changing world. All this I ask in the name of Jesus, who as a child in the temple showed his longing to learn about you, and as an adult taught by story and example your great love for us. Amen
